WHAT ARE ACRYLIC NAILS?

Acrylic nails are simply a mixture of powder and liquid monomer, it’s combined into a dough shaped blob then placed onto your nails with a brush. The great thing about acrylics is that they don’t need a lamp to cure, they can be air-dried. They’re perfect for giving your nails extra length and changing the shape.

HOW ARE THEY APPLIED?

Your nail technician will put on tips or sometimes use nail forms to make them look as natural as possible. The acrylic is then shaped and painted with polish with the desired style.

WHAT KIND OF NAIL POLISH CAN BE USED?

Any polish can be used on acrylic nails, so whether you’re a fan of good old regular polish or you’re a modern gel fan, either is fine.

ARE THEY HIGH-MAINTENANCE?

To truth is, acrylic nails do some upkeep. Most clients come in every2/3 weeks to get them filled. You could leave it longer but we recommend a regular visit to keep your nail looking tip top!

HOW ARE THEY REMOVED?

Each nail must be soaked in acetone until the acrylic is soft enough to be removed, you need to get a professional to do it otherwise you could damage your nail. Don’t be tempted to do it at home!

CAN THEY DAMAGE YOUR ACTUAL NAILS?

If you do a DIY job, there’s a chance you could get bacteria in your nail, professionals (like us), know what they’re doing. This includes correctly filling and keeping them dry and clean for you. You need to look after your nails so we always advise to come back to use if you need anything changed.
